BLOG #3: A Little Late This Time
Generative AI
I was not able to get my blog out when I was supposed to this time. I am sorry about that but better late than never is what I have always heard.
This week, we discussed the benefits and negatives to Generative AI in a classroom. Generative AI has been a pretty controversial topic for a little while now and can be extremely risky to discuss in any setting. Many teachers think that this AI is out to get them and take their place in the classroom. Don't worry teachers, I think we are safe from these robots. It's not like this is Skynet and we are John Connor trying to fight against the new world order that these robots are pushing to us.
Different AI that I have Experienced
I have been extremely fortuitous to be able to use AI on several occasions before making this post.
Chat GPT
The great Chat-GPT. This is the AI that really makes it all worth it. This AI is very flushed out and doesn't seem to have many large or recurring issues with it. Every time I put in a prompt, I get a speedy answer out of it. It is truly amazing. It also helps me build lesson plans or to make worksheets or activities when asked. You can put in a previous assignment and ask for differentiation of content and ChatGPT will do so for you. You honestly cannot ask for a better tool in your classroom. Let's just hope they don't try to take our jobs as well.
Google Gemini
This one would not work for me. I tried everything that I could think of and it still would not work. Was not too impressed. Definitely needs a lot of work.
Microsoft Copilot
This AI was pretty well thought out. I enjoyed the voices that were used to make it feel more personal but even more tha n that. I enjoyed how it can tell stories and provides prompts for what you want to ask for in general. This can be helpful to someone who is new to AI.
These are the big 3 AI that I saw on here. I want to point out that I don't think that AI is going to take over the world. Thsi isn't the Matrix and I am not Neo. If we want anyone to be the one, it is not me. I also know that working with people has been massively important to children growth. I will use AI sparingly in my class.
