Time for Some Reflection!
Reflection
One of the most important parts of any process is the reflection piece at the end of the actual project. As a science teacher, we understand this concept more than most. In research, the best and most interesting part of a research paper to read has to do with the conclusion and ending discussions. These sections help us to understand what occurred during the time the research was going on. The same will happen here as we discuss how I think I have progressed as a teacher who is discovering technology.
My Technology Goals
My goal was to not become dependent on technology and this is an ongoing goal that I never want to lose. I have so far been doing well with that while also utilizing the technology to help build up my classroom. The students are able to enjoy online labs when I cannot get together the resources myself for them to be able to do some of the labs that we want to do. Sadly, money and time are still constraints for many classes.
What I Expected
I expected to gain a lot of information about how to utilize the one-to-one status of my school. I was able to do this and now I use things like Nearpod or Edpuzzle in my everyday class as a visual add in to much of my class. This has given me many resources that I can use to help with my class.
Early Prediction
My prediction was that this course would help make me a more well-rounded educator and it seems to have done that to me. I would not have been comfortable using some things at the beginning of this year that I feel comfortable with now. I feel like I am learning every day because I am still a new teacher but help with technology has always been welcome.
Thank you so much for reading this post and please tune in next time!
